The Verdict
Best Nashville Radio Personality: Why Bones Earns the Title
Every weekday morning, millions of country fans start their day with a show that comes straight out of Nashville. The Bobby Bones Show mixes big-name interviews, new music, and the kind of unfiltered, funny banter among friends that makes listeners feel like part of the gang. It has become a must-stop for country artists, from superstars to the rising names Bones loves to champion.
Bones has turned that morning show into a media empire without ever leaving Music City. His BobbyCast just marked 10 years and nearly 700 episodes, becoming the first Nashville-based podcast on Netflix, and his Nashville Podcast Network gives other local voices a national stage. Add CMA and ACM Awards, comedy tours, and TV hits like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, and he’s Nashville’s biggest voice on the airwaves.

The Story
From Mountain Pine to Music City
Bobby Bones grew up in the small town of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, and worked his way up through radio in his home state, landing at Little Rock’s Q100 in 2002. That job led to hosting The Bobby Bones Show in Austin, Texas, then a Top 40 program.
In 2013, the show moved to Nashville, switched to country, and went national. It grew into America’s #1 country morning show, and Bones built an entertainment empire around it: the BobbyCast, the Nashville Podcast Network, comedy tours, a mentor role on American Idol, and a Dancing with the Stars championship in 2018.
