Nashville Best Of 2026 · Best Jazz Club
Rudy’s Jazz Room
Persian rugs, armchairs, Moroccan lights, a Steinway grand piano, and world-class jazz six nights a week. Nashville’s authentic late-night jazz club, Rudy’s is our pick for the best jazz in Music City.
The Verdict
Why Rudy’s Earns the Title
Music City has always been about more than country, and Rudy’s proves it every night. Tucked between the Gulch and 8th Avenue, this intimate listening room blends the feel of a New York jazz club with New Orleans soul, and top-tier jazz groups take turns on a stage anchored by a Steinway Model B grand piano. It’s where serious jazz fans, working musicians, and curious first-timers all end up side by side.
The food is as authentic as the music. Chef and co-owner Michael Braden, a New Orleans native raised on his family’s Creole cooking, turns out gumbo, red beans and rice, po-boys, crawfish grilled cheese, and beignets, served alongside prohibition-era cocktails and local beer. With late hours on weekends, it’s the perfect way to end a Nashville night.

Beignets & Classic Cocktails
End the night the Big Easy way with warm beignets and a prohibition-era cocktail from the bar. Local beers are on tap, too.
The Story
A True Jazz Club for Music City
Co-owner Adam Charney grew up in Nashville and loved the intimate jazz clubs of New York City, but he noticed his hometown was missing a true, dedicated jazz room. He set out to create one, drawing inspiration from legendary listening rooms like Smalls in New York.
He teamed up with chef Michael Braden, born in New Orleans and raised on his family’s Creole recipes, to pair great music with authentic food. The result is a warm, eclectic space that helps put Nashville alongside cities like New York, New Orleans, and Chicago as a destination for live jazz.
“An authentic jazz experience in Music City USA.”
